Additional Bodum Pavina 15-Ounce Double-Wall Thermo Glasses (Tall Drink), Set of 2 Information
|
The Bodum Pavina double wall thermo glass is 15 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant and cafe and they are a definite conversation piece. Bodum’s insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

What Customers Say About Bodum Pavina 15-Ounce Double-Wall Thermo Glasses (Tall Drink), Set of 2:

I will replacing more of my glasses with them. Just fits my top rack in dishwasher. Thank you so much Amazon for having them. Just love them. Will be ordering more.
They are tall but do fit in a dishwasher. These perform exactly as stated.
Yes, I did drop one washing it before I had even used it. They are fragile and easy to drop. I'm just waitingfor the other one to have a similar fate. That said, I will probably still try one of thesmaller sizes -- I really do like my soda tostay cold and it does. These insulated beverage glasses are attractiveand (thermally) functional but the 21-oz iced-tea version carries the idea too far. At this size, both diameter and height make them very easy to knock over.
I really love these and they are my favorite glasses. A very fair price and a lovely glass.
As such, I wouldn't recommend this glass for everyday use (though if you're very careful with your stuff you could use it as such), but rather for occassions when you want to present well for guests or such.Recommended, but lost one star for lack of durability. Also worth noting: When Amazon shipped this to me, one of the glasses was broken (into many pieces, not just a little cracked), but I called them and they immediately shipped out another pair by overnight delivery, so kudos to them for taking care of the customer. Obviously don't drop them (even into the sink).I haven't put mine in the dishwasher, though they claim to be dishwasher safe.Let's be honest - if you buy this glass, you're buying for its looks, not its practicality. These glasses are beautiful in appearance, but you have to be quite careful with them as one of the factors which make them so attractive (the thin glass walls) also makes them quite delicate. Don't stir vigorously with a metal spoon and don't chuck ice hard into them.
